Barbara Dunlap is an ordained United Methodist Deacon and the founder of Sacred Worth Ministries. Before founding Sacred Worth Ministries, she served as an associate minister at First United Methodist Church of Hurst for four years. She is a graduate of Brite Divinity School and Texas Christian University.
Barbara’s call to ministry began with the question, “What would the world look like if women and girls were seen as children of God with sacred worth?” As a response to that question, she works to address issues that impact the daily lives of women and girls, such as reproductive health, maternal health, empowerment, education and advocacy.
Barbara is a member of Tarrant County Breastfeeding Coalition, Tarrant County Birth Equity Collaborative, United Methodists for Reproductive Justice, and serves as the Chair of the Health Equity Alliance of Tarrant County.
Barbara’s ministry models are the nuns and nurse-midwives from Call the Midwife and Mister Rogers. In her free time, Barbara enjoys reading, watching Food Network and sitcoms, creating playlists on Spotify, and singing musical theatre songs at the top of her lungs in the car (especially while driving her children to school).
